Having studied and understood the agony and stress the Muslim populace, especially women in purdah are undergoing in receiving adequate health care by the parental owner of the said health facility, Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen. It is then they deemed it fit to establish Islamic hospital. This hospital is meant to serve as worthy alternative to the Non-Islamic existing one. Where Muslims especially women in purdah were been molested and religiously ridiculed before been given inadequate service. Elderly Muslims scholars need day to day private consult for early detection of any health problem and prompt treatment. This service can only be rendered well by Islamic hospital and Muslim health workers that understand the importance of these Sheikhs. Health information dissemination to the targeted people at appropriate time is of paramount importance, because study shows that larger percentage of Muslim populace usually fall victims of preventable diseases due to the lack of adequate information about their health condition at appropriate time.

Al-A’awan Health Center & Maternity home is one of the establishments of Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen that is dedicated to health department of the Jama’at.
Al-Awan was established in the year 2001and was officially declared opened by his spiritual eminence Sheikh Abdul Baki Muhammad,  chief missioner of Islaudeen missionary association of Nigeria on the 1st of July, 2001. The commissioning programmed was also graced by other Islamic scholars from Iwo town and it’s environ.

To serve as saving end for the Muslim populace especially Muslim women in purdah in Iwo and its environs from Non-Islamic hospital where these people are not only not well attended to but also religiously molested and devalued. Christianization usually also occur during the course of their shallow health care delivery to Muslims. To provide integrated health care services to children and women of child bearing age including elderly people to reduce the infant and maternal morbidity and mortality rate among Muslim society. To serve as health messiah to all elderly Muslim’s scholars whose lives need not only to be protected but to also be given sound health treatment in order for them to be able to deliver the message of ALLAH to the people very well. To disseminate up-to-date health information to the people through our infant welfare and ante-natal programme which multitude of people use to attend.

Since inception in the year 2001, the centre had occupied a six room apartment with only four hospital bed in the ground floor of an upstair building that was dashed out to Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen by an Islamic philanthropist Alhaji Mudathir Emiloju. The said building is situated at Onilete Compound, Molete ward II, Iwo, Osun State. But by the special grace of Almighty ALLAH, the immense financial effort and deep determination of the parental owner of the said health facility Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen, had built for us a permanent ultra modern hospital building. About 12 hospital beds capacity building that consist of side medical laboratory, scanning room, labour ward and delivery room, lying in ward, injection and consulting room, which is situated at Okoro’s Compound along Oweyo- panada road, opposite Alhaji Iromini close, which will Insha Allahu be officially commissioned on 26th June,2011.

The health centre as at present has one medical doctor, 3 certified nurses among of which is a woman in purdah, 4 health attendants and some hospital maids are also among the crew so as to meet up with the challenges associated with the service. The competency, dedication and determination of the crew has contributed immensely to the success of the health centre since the inception.

Financial support from Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen, the Jama’ah single handedly finance most of our programmes to the extent of bearing the cost of hospital bill and delivery of less privilege people in the society. And our health education unit was also fully supported by Jama’ah. o The little income from services rendered to the patients since the inception is not sufficient for the upkeeps and we are not deterred as the establishment is not solely for profit making.
